Green Energy
Areas of Activity
In 2012, Weiss Group established the company Chariot Motors, which is engaged in a project in the field of green energy – electric buses using cable technology. The electric buses are equipped with and powered by electricity provided by rechargeable cables. Electric buses do not cause air pollution, significantly save energy and are more cost-effective than motorized buses equipped with a diesel engine.
The project has enormous business and economic potential, especially in light of the fact that this field is a top priority in the world and in Israel in particular and even receives government subsidies with considerable budgets. Weiss Group consider the Green Energy Division’s field of activity to be a significant growth engine.
Green Energy Division – Israel At the start of 2013, the company signed a partnership agreement with the Dan cooperative for importing and marketing electric buses in Israel, under a joint company called Pandan, owned equally by both parties. At the beginning of 2017, the joint company Pandan received an exclusive franchise for marketing Higer busses. Higer are one of the largest bus manufacturers in China and are located in Suzhou.
Higer manufacture approximately 40,000 buses a year, of all types: electric, diesel, CNG, hydrogen-powered buses and autonomous buses. Hundreds of Higer buses currently operate in Israel. Pandan are developing a wide variety of gas, diesel and electricity powered bus models. Weiss Group consider this field of activity as a significant growth engine, both in Israel and abroad, which will yield significant results in coming years. In light of their experience, Pandan are negotiating with a number of companies such as Egged and other operators to sell them electric, gas and diesel powered buses. In October 2021, the company won an Egged tender, for the provision of 50 Higer electric buses, which they import.
